Bad Boys II (2003)
Genre: Action/Comedy/Crime/Thriller

Directed by: Michael Bay
Rated: US: R, UK: 15

Movie Review:
What happens when one of my favorite director works with one of my favorite producer to make a comedy-action with one of my favorite comic actor? When the trio Bay, Bruckheimer and Smith meets, a super comic, super action, super entertainer film happens and they name it 'Bad Boys II'.

I did not like Bad Boys (1995) much, which forced me to have this feeling that the sequel is not going to be better. But well we all know that 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' was better than 'The Terminator', in fact it was one of the best action movies I saw that time . Which means sequel not being better than the original does not happen always, right? Hence I decided to give it a try and well, soon I knew that this movie is going to be in my 'Must to Watch Action Films' list.

Bad Boys II has everything an action comedy movie must be filled with. Stylish actions, hilarious comedy and two brilliant actors Lawrence & Smith dealing with both. Though the movie has lot of racist jokes which may offend some people, but hey, those dialogues have been flawlessly delivered  by Lawrence & Smith which has made it highly enjoyable than to be felt offended with.

Michael Bay has always surprised me with his stylish action sequences and this movie has not been deprived of it a bit. Bad Boys II is a non-stop action entertainer that has nail biting action sequences that just goes on and on. And well due to the dialogues and action, the plot did not even mattered to me.

All in all, this is a good movie that any action - comedy lover will hardly give a miss.
My Recommendation: If you are an action - buddy comedy fan, and you don't care about how the racist jokes could do you any harm. Well, watch it!

Why Should I See?: Brilliant Action Sequences, Hilarious Comedy

Why Should I Not?: Racist Jokes, Involve Drugs

Rating: 7.5/10

Nautanki Saala (2013)

Nautanki Saala (2013)
Genre: Drama/Comedy
Directed by: Rohan Sippy
Rated: India: U/A

Movie Review:
Something is seriously wrong with this movie. No matter how hard I try to like this movie, I ended up saying - 'Not Worth'. This movie is good for some DVD release rather than a theatrical release. First half goes with ups and downs but try to manage the interest of the crowd. But when the movie progress after first half, it plainly fails to entertain at many points and goes on moving blindly towards the end.

After his miraculous performance in Vicky Donor, Aayushmann has been on a greater level of expectations and no doubt he did the good job in Nautanki Saala too, but the plot is mediocre and most of the time is a non-comedy. The film has its moments, but most the time it fails to make a plot so interesting that can bind the viewers all the time.

My Recommendation: If you are not a hard-core Aayushmann fan, you can easily give this movie a break and wait for some good films which are coming by the end of the month. Songs are good, and they are the only enjoyable part at times.

Why Should I See?: Good Songs.
Why Should I Not?: Mediocre Plot

Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)
Genre: Comedy/Drama/Romance
Directed by: Glenn Ficarra, John Requa
Rated: USA: PG-13, UK: 12A, India: A

Review:

Crazy, Stupid, Love is a sweet, intelligent, intrigue and hilarious rom-com that will be loved by all. It is a perfect combination of being laughable and sensible both at time. Funny Carell, charming Moore, gorgeous Emma and incredibly smart Gosling are immaculate combinations needed for this movie.

I found this movie to be one of the best rom-com that has been produced lately. It has some hilarious one-liners that would keep you entertained. It maybe predictable for some, but that does not spoil the innocence, the film carries out with it, till the end. This film has been made by heart I can tell you that.

My Recommendation: Watch it anytime, you are gonna love it.

Why Should I See?: Adorable Plot, Hilarious Dialogues
Why Should I Not?: Predictable at times (But that won't disappoint you anyhow)

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
Genre: Comedy/Romance
Directed by: David O. Russel
Rated: USA: R, UK:15

Review:

One thing in which David Russel is best is in how to make people act. We have seen him in his previous movie 'The Fighter, where he pulled out the best from Wahlberg and Bale. And in this beautiful 'romcom' he did it again with Cooper and Lawrence.

Adapted to Screenplay by David Russel himself from the novel 'The Silver Linings Playbook' by Matthew Quick, Silver Linings Playbook is a fresh, out of the box, entertaining (most of it), yet predictable and a bit dull at times. The best part being its freshness and brilliant performances by all the actors and actresses in the right way, at the right moment. It has all the emotions which needs a movie to get loved by people. But somewhere it looses its charm and goes blatantly plain and you start loosing interest in it. Then again it picks up its pace and you start building up interest in it. Like a roller-coaster ride it goes on and off.

It does not have much laughable moments or moment that could make you cry, but it has lovely one liners which you would like and is as I said - entertaining for most of its part. And if you will go deep down into it, you may actually love this movie.

My Recommendation: Its a weekend movie, go and enjoy with you partner. Because romcom is the one genre you would love to enjoy with them. Because when this will end, you will say - 'It was not at all bad'... lol. Happy Movie Watching!

Why Should I See?: Fresh Plot, Praiseworthy Performances
Why Should I Not?: Predictable and dull at times.

Safety Not Guaranteed (2012)

Safety Not Guaranteed (2012)
Genre: Comedy/Romance/Sci-fi
Directed by: Colin Trevorrow
Rated: USA: R, UK:15

Movie Review:

'Safety not guaranteed' is based on an actual classified ad of 1997 in Backwood Homes Magazine by a person asking for someone who could go back to time with him. The writer may have thought, what if it was not a joke? And he made a movie keeping that mind.

The film is monotonous in style, but is entertaining till the end. End is quite predictable which gives a movie an 'ok' type of feel, it has a fresh plot though. Aubrey has done a fine job and rest are as I said 'ok' at their end. So Safety Not Guaranteed is a good film where entertainment is guaranteed if it is your genre. Else you might love this movie, or you may not, but this is a decent entertainer all in all.

Why Should I See?: Good Plot
Why Should I Not?: Predictable End

21 Jump Street (2012)
Genre: Action/Comedy/Crime
Rated: USA: R, UK:15

Review:
Set your expectations up and 21 Jump Street will not let you down in any way if you are in for an teen buddy comedy flick. It is full of good laughs, hilarious moments and filthy yet funny dialogues.

21 Jump Street is not just another teen movie, but it is THE ANOTHER teen movie. Some dialogues you will remember even after the movie goes over. 21 Jump Street is one of those teen comedy movies that has the potential to make you laugh till you drop at certain points.

Don't miss on this one if you are looking for some good times with pals.

Why Should I See?: Hilarious
Why Should I Not?: Only if you are not in for teen comedies which includes racist jokes, dopes, swears and a bit of vulgarity etc.

The Back-up Plan (2010)
Genre: Comedy/Romance

Directed by: Alan Poul
Rated: USA: PG-13, UK:12-A

The Back-up Plan is a light hearted romcom that shows the struggle of a woman when her backup plan goes all the way wrong .But this movie has lesser funny moments than expected and is very plain and predictable. It has a fresh plot but the plot itself is not so strong that could make you hold your grounds firmly for 100 minutes.

The graceful J'Lo and decent Alex O'Loughlin are the only reasons that will make you sit till the end. But the other stuffs and add-ons are not impressive. It has incompleteness in it, but nevertheless entertaining. It is good, but could have been better.

Why Should I See?: The chemistry of J'Lo and Alex, fresh plot.
Why Should I Not?: Plain and predictable.

Ramona and Beezus (2010)
Genre: Adventure/Comedy/Fantasy/Family
Directed by: Elizabeth Allen
Rated: USA: G, UK: U

Ramona and Beezus is a smooth adorable family entertainer that will not disappoint you in any expect. It has emotions, humor, drama and everything a family entertainer should have, in short, it is a movie for all the ages.

Based on Ramona series of novels by Beverly Cleary, Ramona and Beezus has Joey King aka Ramona who is so adorable that her innocence will win your heart. She is the main protagonist of the film and the whole film revolves around her and her elder sister Beezus aka Selena Gomez.

Selena Gomez and Joey King's bond in the film is quite a charm. If you are looking for a family entertainer, this movie is surely made for you and you are gonna love every part of it.

Why Should I See?: Brilliant acting by adorable Joey and beautiful Selena.
Why Should I Not?: None, only if you are not into a family entertainer.

Ted (2012)

Ted (2012)
Genre: Comedy/Fantasy
Directed by:Seth MacFarlane
Rated: USA: R, UK: 15, India: A

Don't melt your heart for this cute Teddy, he is one brat that cannot be tamed. Ted is a hilarious Adult Comedy about a tale of romance and bro-mance.

The best part of this movie is the dialogue it emits and that too at the right time and the right place. The teddy is outstanding. This movie is far beyond moral and ethical values, so if you are easily offended by the profanity, stereotyping, sexual humors, dopes etc this movie is a strictly No for you. But if you are a no-matter-what and bring-it-on kinda person then do not and I say again do not miss on this one.

Mark Wahlberg has one profound comic side that we have seen earlier in other comedy movies too and Mila Kunis has done a pretty job (well of course she is pretty what can do...) and Seth MacFarlane aka Ted, is simply superb. Once you start enjoying the movie, you won't even treat Ted as a bear.

My Suggestion: Its a not-for-everyone movie so only watch it if you are fine with Adult Comedies.

Why Should I See?: Hilarious Dialogues
Why Should I Not?: Vulgarity

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)
Genre: Crime/Comedy/Suspense

Directed by: Shane Black

It maybe the Directorial Debut for Shane Black but Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a great comedy with dark humor and a brilliant piece of acting by Robert Downey Jr. If you are Downey's fan, this movie is made especially for you. Don't go on its name, it ain't an action movie, the movie is hilarious if you like dark comedies. Though it has some scenes that does not make sense but then in comedy movies, not everything has to make sense.

The chemistry between Downy & Kilmer is admirable and the dialogues are well placed. There are some stupidity which has a unique humor that the narrator Downey himself admit it to be stupid.

All in all it is a watchable movie with good plot and brilliant cast. Don't miss on this one if you are Downey's fan and/or a Dark Comedy Lover.
